Interview with Mark Chung, Founder and CEO of Verdigris


Mark Chung is the CEO and Co-founder of Verdigris. Verdigris, which he started in 2011, makes meters to help buildings reduce their energy use and be more sustainable. The innovative technology, which employs artificial intelligence, precise measuring systems, and state-of-the-art technology, produces detailed energy reports for building managers notifying them of what appliances are wasting energy. For their work, Verdigris was honored by Fast Company as one of its Most Innovative Energy Companies in 2017. Chung began his career at Stanford University, receiving a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering. Prior to his current role at Verdigris, he worked as an engineer with numerous software and chip companies, most notably one that was acquired by Steve Jobs and Apple.
